How many dollars was the total bill?
:
Let x = amt of the total bill
then
x%2F5 = the share of each originally
and
x%2F4 = the share actually
:
x%2F4 - x%2F5 = 4
Multiply by 20 to get rid of the denominators, results
5x - 4x = 20(4)
x = $80 is the total bill
