The first subgoal is to solve for 'y'


y+-+6+=+3%28x-4%29 Start with the given equation.


y+-+6+=+3x-12 Distribute.


y++=+3x-12%2B6 Add 6 to both sides.


y++=+3x-6 Combine like terms.


Looking at y=3x-6 we can see that the equation is in slope-intercept form y=mx%2Bb where the slope is m=3 and the y-intercept is b=-6
