The way to factor this is look at the first two terms 2x^3+10x. This can be rewritten as:
2x^2(x+5)
Now let's look at the last two terms. x+5 or 1(x+5) Notice it matches the above in parenthesis. This can be rewritten as:
(2x^2+1)(x+5) Now we can solve for x
x=-5
2x^2+1 = 0 Rewritten
2x^2=-1
x^2=-1/2
x=square root of -1/2
