In order to remove the brackets,we multiply every term inside the brackets with the term immediately outside the bracket. In this case we multiply 5p+1 with 2. Also remember that the sign inside the bracket also need to be multiplied with the sign outside the bracket
SO now, we have 6p-2(5p+1)=2p+4
6p -10p -2 = 2p+4
-4p -2 = 2p+4
In order to solve these types of equations, you must bring all the terms containing p to 1 side and take the rest of the terms to the other side
Subtracting 2p from both sides
-4p -2p -2 = 4
Adding 2 on both sides
-6p = 6
Dividing by -6 on both sides
p = -1
