You can put this solution on YOUR website! In order to remove the brackets,we multiply every term inside the brackets with the term immediately outside the bracket. In this case we multiply 5p+1 with 2. Also remember that the sign inside the bracket also need to be multiplied with the sign outside the bracket
SO now, we have 6p-2(5p+1)=2p+4
6p -10p -2 = 2p+4
-4p -2 = 2p+4
In order to solve these types of equations, you must bring all the terms containing p to 1 side and take the rest of the terms to the other side
Subtracting 2p from both sides
-4p -2p -2 = 4
Adding 2 on both sides
-6p = 6
Dividing by -6 on both sides
p = -1
