Good Morning,
This has a couple steps so here we go. First formula we'll use is:
a^2 + b^2 = c^2 c is the hypotenuse and since both legs are the same size we'll show them with x. It looks like this:
x^2 + x^2 = 15^2 Expand this and combine like terms will give us:
2x^2=225 Divide both sides by 2 will be:
x^2=112.5 Square rood both sides will be:
x=10.61 (rounded off) This is the length of both sides.
Now, we'll use the area of a triangle which is area=1/2(base)(height) plug in the numbers:
area=1/2(10.61)(10.61)
area= 56.29 square feet (rounded off)
