the y intercept is the value of y when x = 0
to find the x-intercept on the graph, look on the graph and see where the graph of the equation crosses or touches the x-axis.
to find the y-intercept on the graph, look on the graph and see where the graph of the equation crosses or touches the y-axis.
in the following graph:
The x-intercepts are at x = -2 and x = 2
