you got to get the y by itself

x=1/3y+2 subtract y on both sides
x-1/3y=2 subtract x on both sides
y=3x+6 divide by -1/3 to get y by itself
now you can graph start at point (0,6) slope is 3/1 remember rise/run
-2x-y=1 add x to both sides
-y=2x+1 eliminate - on y by flipping all signs
y=-2x-1
graph y-intercept (0,-1) slope -2/1
