You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-y=11
x+2y=-36

Because both equations are in standard form, it will be easiest to use the elimination method. To eliminate the y terms, multiply the first equation by 2

2(3x-y)=2*11
x+2y=-36

6x-2y=22
x+2y=-36

7x = -14
x=-2

Substitute the value of x=-2 into the either equation:
3x-y=11
3(-2) - y = 11
-6 -y = 11
-y = 17
y=-17

Check in the second equation:
x+2y=-36
-2 + 2(-17) = -36
-2 - 34 = -36
It checks!!

Solution is the point (-2, -17)
