a. We'll use Synthetic division. Since Synthetic Division is for dividing by an expression of the form (x-a), we will think of (x+2) as (x-(-2)):

      ------------------

So the remainder is -21.

b. By the Remainder Theorem, this is the same as part (a): -21.
