Question 24068: A special cushion designed to go in a corner is shaped like a triangular pyramid. The base is a right triangle with sides of length 42 cm, 56 cm, 70 cm. If the height of the pillow is 64 cm, what is the volume?
our teacher said to use this equation for a triangular base: [(base*height)(divided by 2)(* height) then, divide the answer by 3]
He said that u use find the area of the base * the height, / by 3.
He said that you just find the volume like you would for a rectangular prism and divide the answer by three.
I tryed to find the answer a couple of times, but using the information of the base's lengths, i couldn't find the area of the base. Therefore, I couldn't finish the equation to find the answer.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are told the base is a right triangle so the longest side is
the hypotenuse. Therefore the other two sides form a right triangle.
Therefore the area of that triangle is (1/2)42*56.
That will give you the area of the base you are looking for.
