You can put this solution on YOUR website! Yes. that is the equation of a line and the line is not vertical. So every value of x maps to one and only one value for y. Which is the definition of a function.
You can always use the vertical line rule. Plot the given equation. If any vertical line intersects the plot in more than one point, then the equation is NOT a function.
