First lets show the number as x. So
1/3(x)+ 1/5(x) = 16 First get rid of the fractions by multiplying 15
5x + 3x = 240 Combine like terms
8x = 240 Divide by 8
x = 30 Plug 30 into the original equation and it should work out fine.
