Question 23942: I am trying to simplify ln(1/x + x).
or ln {(1+x^2)/x}
or ln(1+x^2)-ln(x).
Standard formulas are available for ln(1+x) and ln x. How do i expand or simplify ln (1+x^2).
Thanks.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I am trying to simplify ln(1/x + x).
or ln {(1+x^2)/x}
or ln(1+x^2)-ln(x).
Standard formulas are available for ln(1+x) and ln x. How do i expand or
simplify ln (1+x^2).
Thanks.

Since you say you have a standard formula available for
ln(1+x) you can just replace x by x² in that standard formula
and you'll have a formula for ln(1+x²).

And since you also say you have a standard formula available for
ln(x), then you only need " ln(1+x²) - ln(x) ", which you can
easily get by subtracting these.
