You can put this solution on YOUR website!
sol:
equation of the line passing through the points (x1,y1),(x2,y2) is
y-y1/y2-y1=x-x1/x2-x1
equation of the line passing through the points (4,2)and (12,5) is
x1=4,y1=2,x2=12,y2=5
substitute the values in the above formula
y-2/5-2=x-4/12-4
y-2/3=x-4/8
on cross multiplication
8(y-2)=3(x-4)
8y-16=3x-12
transpose L.H.S part to R.H.S
3x-12-8y+16=0
3x-8y+4=0
