Question 238187: PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS TRIGONOMETRIC FUNCTIONS
Name the quadrant in which sin(theta)<0 and cos(theta)>0
a)l
b)ll
c)lll
d)lV
Answer by College Student(505) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Your answer is quadrant IV.
.
Here's a trick you might like to know. If you draw a cross represeting all four quadrants, write the following letters starting from quadrant I... A,S,T,C. You can memorize it by saying All Students Take Calculus (A.S.T.C.). Now wht this means is the in Quadrant 1 all trig functions are positive, in Q2 only sin is positive, Q3 only tan are positive, Q4 only cos are positive.
.
See the relation between the four letters and the trig functions?
A.S.T.C. (All Students Take Calculus)
A = all are positive
S = sin is positive
T = tan is positive
C = cos is positive
.
Hope this helps you. :)
