Question 237409: angle PQR is adjacent to angle RQS
angle PQS is 180 degrees and angle PQR is 10 degrees
Find the measure of angle RQS

this is the last one. we had a sub teacher at school today and i dont understand this. Thank you so much.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Adjacent angles means they are next to each other, sharing on side. We are talikng about a semi circle or a full circle here.
If this problem pertains to a full circle, then...
A full circle = 360 degrees, thus a half a circle = 180 degrees.
.
Knowing this, you now know:
a. Angle PQS is 180 degrees,
b. Angle PQR is 10 degrees, and
c. both angles are adjacent.
.
Total degrees are 190. So, 360 degrees - 190 degrees = 170 degrees.
.
Assuming we're talking about a full circle, which your problem doesn't specify, Angle RQS would then be 170 degrees.
.
Hint: in problems like this one where angles are adjacent, always write down the measurements you know. Then figure out the difference.
