You can put this solution on YOUR website!
There is missing data here.
In order to answer this question, I need to know the miles per hour of train b.
Understand?
Please, type the entire question correctly.
==========================================
Thanks for providing the extra piece of information.
The equation is 40(x + 1) = 50x.
Solving the equation, I got x = 4.
The time for train a is x + 1 or 5 more than 8am taking us to 1pm.
The time for train b is x or 4 more than 9am taking us to 1pm.
They meet at 1pm.
=================================================================
The distance for train a is 40mph times 5 = 200 miles.
Of course, train b also travelled 200 miles because 50mph times 4 = 200 miles.
