Question 234530: Previous one had an error...sorry....

FACTORING: I really need help here. I just can't get the factoring for some reason. If someone could help me in a step by step format so that I could get it I'd REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE IT. I thought I had the GCF for the first one as 7x^7 but when I went to check it didn't work out with 35x^7 unless I did something wrong. With the second one, I got confused when the textbook was showing the switching of the variables.

#1 Factor completely and if it's a prime, state that it's a prime:
7x^9 - 28x^8 - 35x^7

#2 Same directions
10s^2 + 4st - 6t^2

You can put this solution on YOUR website! #1 Factor completely and if it's a prime, state that it's a prime:
7x^9 - 28x^8 - 35x^7
Common Factor: 7x^7
Ans: 7x^7(x^2 - 4x -5)
Factor again:
Ans: 7x^7(x-5)(x+1)
===========================

#2 Same directions
10s^2 + 4st - 6t^2
Common Factor: 2
Ans: 2(5s^2 + 2st - 3t^2)
Factor again:
Ans: 2(5s^2 + 5st - 3st - 3t^2)
2(5s(s+5)-3t(s+t))
2(s+5)(5s-3t)
=======================
Cheers,
