3x+7-2x=4x+10
Combine any like terms, the left side has 3x and -2x.
x+7 = 4x+10
Get all the x terms on one side of the equal sign.
Subtract x from both sides to get x terms only on the right side.
7 = 3x+10
Get the x terms isolated by getting rid of the 10 on the right side.
Subtract 10 from both sides
-3 = 3x
3x = -3
Divide by 3
x = -1
