Not sure how to solve when you have a variable on each side of the equation
X=2(X-1)+6
I got to the point of X=2X+4 but are not sure what to do next

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I got to the point of X=2X+4 but are not sure what to do next
---
Subtract "X" from both sides to get:
0 = X + 4
Subtract 4 from both sides to get:
X = -4

You can put this solution on YOUR website! X=2(X-1)+6
Distribute the 2 to terms inside parenthesis:
X=2X-2+6
X=2X+4
Subtracting 2X from both sides:
X-2X = 2X+4-2X
-X = 4
Multiply both sides by -1:
X = -4
