You can put this solution on YOUR website!

If you meant this system:

system%280.3x-0.2y=4%2C+0.4x%2Bred%280.5y%29=1%29

then you are right. But that's not the system you posted.

You posted this system instead:

system%280.3x-0.2y=4%2C+0.4x%2Bred%285y%29=1%29

and the correct solution to it is (1010/79, -65/79)

solve by the elimation method. 0.3x-0.2y=4
0.4x+5y=1 What is the solution set I came up with (220/23, - 130/23) am I right or close to it
-------------------
Multiply thru both equations by 10 to get:
3x-2y=40
4x+50y=10
--------------------
Multiply thru the 1st equation by 25:
75x-50y=1000
4x +50y = 10
-----------------------
Add and solve for "x":
79x = 1010
x = 1010/79
----
Then substitute into 3x-2y=50 to solve for "y".
