You posted this system instead:
and the correct solution to it is (1010/79, -65/79)

3x-2y=40
4x+50y=10
--------------------
Multiply thru the 1st equation by 25:
75x-50y=1000
4x +50y = 10
-----------------------
Add and solve for "x":
79x = 1010
x = 1010/79
----
Then substitute into 3x-2y=50 to solve for "y".
