You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve using the elimination method: 5x+5y=-7
7x-2y=11 what is the solution set, I came up with (-5,7) am I close
--------------------------------
5x+5y = -7
7x-2y = 11
-------------
Multiply thru 1st equation by 2 ; Multiply thru 2nd eq. by 5:
10x + 10y = -14
35x - 10y = 55
--------------------------
Add to get:
45x = 41
x = 41/45
-----------------
Subtitute to solve for "y":
5(41/45) + 5y = -7
9*41 + 45*5y = -7*45
369+225y = -315
y = -76/25
