You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1. Jeff Hubbard, a contractor. builds homes of eight diffrent models and presently has five lots to build on. In how many different ways can he arrange homes on these lots?Assume five diffrent models will be built.
---
Ans: 8P5 = 8*7*6*5*4 = 6720
---------------------------------------
2. The ten longest broadway run includes the phantom of the opera and les miserables.8/Four of teh ten are chosen randomly. ( assume order is not important)
----
(a) how many ways can the four be chosen?
Ans: 10C4 = (10*9*8*7)/(1*2*3*4) = 210
------
(b) How many of those groups of four would include neither of the two productions mentioned?
Ans: 8C4 = 70
-----------------------------------
(c)How many of them would include at least one of the productions mentioned?
Ans: #(at least one) = all - #(none) = 10C4-8C4 = 140
-------------------------------------
3.Judy zahrndt wants to name her new baby so that his monogram(first.middle, and last initials) will be distinct letters in alphabetical order and he will share her last name. How many diffrent monograms should she select?
I'll leave that to you.
