2. (-3)^2 = (-3)(-3)=9
3. 3-6-4+8*(-1)
= -7+-8
= -15
4. (-5.3)(7.3)

1. What are the solutions of IxI=3
This means that I%5E2+=3
To undo a square, you must square root both sides:
+sqrt%28I%5E2%29+=+0%2B-sqrt%283%29+
I+=+0%2B-sqrt%283%29 = 1.732 or -1.732 approximately

2. Evaluate %28-3%29%5E2
%28-3%29%5E2+=+%28-3%29%2A%28-3%29+=+9+

3. Solve: 3-2%2A3-4%2B8%2A%282-3%29
Do parentheses first:
3-2%2A3-4%2B8%2A%28-1%29

Do multiplications next:
3-+6+-+4+-8

Subtract from left to right:
-3+-+4+-+8
-7+-+8
-15

4. Find (-5.3)(7.3)
No arithmetic sign between two numbers means to multiply the numbers. Use a calculator, and remember that a negative times a positive is negative!
(-5.3)(7.3)=-38.69
