Question 232046: I am trying to solve and find the solution by using the elimination method. I have tried multiplying the equations by 9 to cancel out y but cannot come up with the negative number to cancel it out. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The equations are:
3x-9y=3
3x-9y=4 Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The problem is the 2 equations are inconsistent.
3x-9y cannot equal both 3 and 4.
If you graph the 2 equations, you get 2 parallel lines, no intersection, no solution.
