4(x+10) - 30 = 3x + 20
4x + 40 - 30 = 3x + 20
4x + 10 = 3x + 20
4x - 3x = 20 - 10
1x = 10
divide each side by 1
x=10
x+10=20
the smaller number is 10, and the bigger number is 20

4x-30=3y+20 now replace x by (y+10) & solve for y.
