find the range of x ?

There are three roots of (x-2)(2x+1)(2x-3) = 0,namely 2, 3/2 and -1/2
(in descending order).
Hence, (x-2)(2x+1)(2x-3)>0 --> x >2 or -1/2 < x < 3/2.
That is, the solution set of (x-2)(2x+1)(2x-3)>0 is
(-1/2, 3/2) U (2, +oo) .
