Question 230439: 5*(-2)+((-1)^(2)-3)^(2) OK I will explain this. There is a parenthesis then a smaller one next to the first + sign. Then the (2) is a to the power 2 and so is the other (2) There I copied and pasted this and this is the way it turned out. I am wondering is all this equals -6??? Did I do it correct or still no such luck for Deb? Help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assume the problem is:
5%2A%28-2%29%2B%28%28-1%29%5E%282%29-3%29%5E%282%29
Inside the brackets
5%2A%28-2%29%2B%281-3%29%5E%282%29
then
5%2A%28-2%29%2B%28-2%29%5E%282%29
and
5%2A%28-2%29%2B4
and
-10 + 4 = -6; I think that Deb is right!
