Question 230361: Hi, how do I solve this question: The supplement of an angle is 21 less than four times the complement of the angle. Find the measure of the angle, the complement, and the supplement. I already tried 180-x=21-4(90-x) and 180-x=-4(90-x) but it doesn't seem to work out. Thank you!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The supplement of an angle is 21 less than four times the complement of the angle.
Find the measure of the angle, the complement, and the supplement.
:
You're just a little mixed up here, the equation should be:
:
Supple is 4*Compl less 21
180 - x = 4(90-x) - 21
:
180 - x = 360 - 4x - 21
:
-x = 4x = 360 - 21 - 180
:
3x = 159
x = 159%2F3
x = 53 degrees
:
Now find the comp and suppl, check solution in the original equation
