"Slop" always exists and is frequently located in the pig trough. On the other hand, the "slope" does not always exist. The slope is defined as the change in the vertical divided by the change in the horizontal. If all of the points on a given line have the same coordinate, then the denominator of the slope fraction is zero. A fraction with a zero denominator is undefined, therefore the slope of such a line does not exist.
