| Question 230049: A die is rolled once. What are the odds against rolling a
 prime number?
 Answer by rapaljer(4671)
      (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A die contains the outcomes 1,2,3,4,5,6.
Of these numbers 2,3, and 5 are prime numbers, so the number of favorable outcomes is 3, the number of unfavorable is 3.

Odds against is a ratio of UNFAVORABLE to FAVORABLE, or 3 to 3. This reduces to 1 to 1 odds against.
