Okay I know distance = rate x time and can figure out that it will take 6 hours for plane A to complete the 3000 miles and 4.6 hours for plane B but how do I set up an equation using distance to find out when the planes will meet? Answer by Alan3354(69443) (Show Source):

550 + 650 = 1150 mph
3000/1150 = 2.609 hours
