firstly draw out a table
with coordinates y=-1,0,1
so when y = -1 , x=1
when y=0 ,x=2
when y=1, x=3

so the coordinates are
x 1 2 3
y -1 0 1


plot the line graph and refer to the intersection where the line intersects the x-axis.
