You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x= smaller integer
x+2 = larger integer

Twice the larger IS forty less than 3 times smaller
2(x+2) = 3x-40
2x+4 = 3x-40

Subtract 2x from each side:
2x-2x+4 = 3x-2x-40
4=x-40

Add +40 to each side
4+40=x-40+40
44=x
x=44
x+2 = 46

Check:
Twice the larger is 40 less than 3 times the smaller.
2*46= 3*44-40
92= 132 - 40
It checks!
