You are correct about the second problem.

For the first one, add +4 to each side:
3Z^2 =-108

Divide both sides by 3:
z^2 = -36

Are you allowed to use complex numbers?

If NOT, then there are no real solutions.

If SO, then z=+0%2B-sqrt%28-36%29+
z=0%2B-6i
