You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You must first find the slope of the given line by solving for y. Add 4x to each side:
-4x + 3y = 12
-4x + 4x + 3y = 4x + 12
3y = 4x + 12

Divide both sides by 3:
%283y%29%2F3+=+%284x%29%2F3+%2B+12%2F3
y+=+%284%2F3%29x+%2B+4+

The slope of this line is 4%2F3, so the slope of ANY line PARALLEL to this line will also be 4%2F3. So the equation of any line is
y=mx+b

The equation of a line with slope 4%2F3 is y+=+%284%2F3%29x+%2B+b, where b is any number. It will also be the y-intercept of the line.
