Here's how I worked this problem:
144 Chairs
CPR (chairs per row)= 2R - 2
(R=row) (two less than twice the number of rows)
Now, I factored 144 and noticed that 16x9=144
I plugged the 9 into the the equation as 9 rows:
CPR=2%289%29-2
Solve further:
CPR=18-2
CPR=16
So, in there are 16 chairs per row and 9 rows, And those two number multiplied equal 144.
