First, raise both sides of the equation as a power of e in order to "undo" the ln function.

ln%284x-2%29=3
e%5E%28ln%284x-2%29%29+=+e%5E3
4x-2=e%5E3

Next, add +2 to each side:
4x=+e%5E3+%2B+2

Finally, divide both sides by 4:
x=+%28e%5E3%2B2%29%2F4
