First, clear the fraction by multiplying through by 0.4
0.4%28d%2F0.4%29+=+0.4%282d+%2B+1.24%29
d+=+0.8d+%2B+0.496 Subtract 0.8d from both sides of the equation.
0.2d+=+0.496 Finally, divide both sides by 0.2
d+=+2.48
