You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How do you solve 1x%2F3%2B6=-8?

Step 1. Multiply by 3 to both sides of the equation

3x%2F3%2B3%2A6=3%2A%28-8%29

x%2B18=-24

Step 2. Add -18 to both sides of the equation to find x

x%2B18%2B%28-18%29=-24%2B%28-18%29

x=-42

Step 3. Check solution with original equation 1x%2F3%2B6=-8

-42%2F3%2B6=-8

-14%2B6=-8

-8=-8 which is a true statement

Step 4. ANSWER: The solution is x=-42

I hope the above steps were helpful.
