Step 1. Subtract x from both sides of the equation

2x-x=x%2B4-x

x=4

Step 2. Check solution x=4 with original equation 2x=x%2B4

2%2A4=4%2B4

8=8 which is a true statement

Step 3. ANSWER: The solution is x=4
