Step 2. Let L be the length and x be the width.

Step 3. Then P=x+x+L+L=2x+2L

Step 4. But P=6x+6=2x+2L. Solving for L yields the following steps:

Subtract 2x from both sides of the equation

6x%2B6-2x=2x%2B2L-2x



2x%2B3=L

Step 5. ANSWER. The length of the rectangle is L=2x%2B3
