Question 22587: 27^-4/3
How do you solve a problem with a negative exponent and a fraction.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The exponent -4/3 is like three instructions.
The - means to invert.
The 4 means to raise to the 4th power.
The 3 means to take the cube root.
Usually the 1st thing to do is take the root as
that gives you a smaller number to work with.
So, cube root of 27 is 3
Raise that to the 4th power to get 81
Invert that to get the final result of 1/81.
