You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the inverse of the given function:
f(x)= 3x + 13

Step 1. Let f(x)=y, then y=3x+13. Now solve for x.

Step 2. Subtract 13 from both sides of the equation

y-13=3x%2B13-13

y-13=3x

Step 3. Divide by 3 to both sides of the equation

%28y-13%29%2F3=3x%2F3

%28y-13%29%2F3=x=g%28y%29 where g(y) is the inverse function

Step 4. ANSWER the inverse is g%28y%29=%28y-13%29%2F3

So check answer with following g%28f%28x%29=x%29 where we substitute f(x) into g(y). Then, g%28f%28x%29%29=%28%283x%2B13%29-13%29%2F3=%283x%29%2F3=x which is true that g%28f%28x%29%29=x.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
