You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2k + 6 - K = 17
Combine the K terms
k + 6 = 17
Subtract 6 from both sides
k = 11
That's all, assuming k and K are the same.

I am trying to help my daughter with her homework and need to know how to solve this equation.... 2k + 6 - k = 17

Step 1. Simplify by adding the like terms on the left side of the equation

2k%2B6-k=17

2k-k%2B6=17

%282-1%29k%2B6=17

k%2B6=17

Step 2. Subtract 6 from obth sides of the equation to solve for k terms.

k%2B6-6=17-6

k=11

Check solution...2k%2B6-k=17...2%2A11%2B6-11=17 which is a true statement.

Step 3. ANSWER: Solution is k=11

I hope the above steps and explanation were helpful.
