First multiply the x in the first term to all of the second terms.
Second multiply the y in the first term to all of the second terms.
Third multiply the 4 in the first term to all of the second terms.
So:
x%5E2%2Bxy%2B-4x%2Bxy%2By%5E2-4y%2B4x%2B4y-16
Next combine like terms. Our 4x and -4x cancel, as do our 4y and -4y.
x%5E2%2B2xy%2By%5E2-16 is then our answer.
