You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-1x%2B5=2x%2B8

Step 1. Add x-8 or to both sides of the equation

-1x%2B5%2Bx-8=2x%2B8%2Bx-8

-3=3x

Step 2. Divide 3 to both sides of the equation

-3%2F3=3x%2F3

-1=x

Step 3. Check solution with original equation

%28-1%29%28-1%29%2B5=2%28-1%29%2B8

1%2B5=-2%2B8

6=6 which is a true statement

Step 4. ANSWER: Solution is x=-1

I hope the above steps and explanation were helpful.
