Question 223727:  the science club wants to find out the height of the schools flagpole. they found out that it the rope attached to the top off the pole was lengthened it formed an angle of 60 degrees wih the ground 14 ft from the base of the pole what is the height of the pole...show all work

You can  put this solution on YOUR website! A  rough  sketch  helps  visualize,,,,,,this  is  a  rt  triangle,,hypotenuse  is   rope,  height  is  one  leg  adjacent to  60  degree  angle,  and  height(h) is  opposite  60 degree  angle.
 
Tan  = opposite / adjacent 
. 
tan 60 = h/ 14,,,,,or h= 14 tan 60 = 14 * 1.732 = 24.248  ft

check,,,angle = tan^-1 (24.248/14) = 60 degrees,,,,,ok
