Question 223443: I'm trying to help my son with his homework and im failing! I use to know how to do this, we have a graphing calculator bu and but i can't remember how to use it. The problem is f%28x%29=5x%5E2-4 and we have to graph it and find the domain, range, increasing, decreasing, maximum. minimum, x-intercept, y intercept, vertex, zeros, transformations, end behavior. Ther is also a chart given the value of x to be -2, -1,0, 1,2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
can't help with the calculator, but ...

this is a parabola that opens upward
because there is no 1st order x-term, the graph is centered on the y-axis

the domain (possible x-values) is all real numbers

the range (possible y-values) is all real numbers >= -4
this is because the 5x^2 term is always >= 0

the function is decreasing from -∞ > x > 0, and increasing from 0 > x > ∞

the maximum is f(x) = ∞ and the minimum is f(x) = -4 (the min is also the y-intercept; and the vertex (0,-4))

the x-intercepts (or zeros or roots) are ±2√5 / 5

not sure about "transformations" and "end behavior"

just plug the x-values into the equation to get the y-values for the chart
