Question 221128: i am not a student, but have a geodesic dome build project under way.
I am looking to find a radius R of a known chord c and rise m.
i am using R=%28m%5E2%2B.25c%5E2%29%2F2m
i can see the Pythagoras in the top right of the equation.
I just dont understand the relationship of that to R.
it seams to be a 2 to 1 ratio. is there an established ratio between the sum of the squares of the rise and half the chord to the arcs radius?
